So I'm confused. I was looking for a phone that was cute, but wouldn't put a dent into my christmas shopping money. I went to the T-mobile website which advertised it for $50 with two year plan. I am already with T-mobile and I figured since I'm already with t-mobile all I need is the phone. Added to the cart to order it and it said it was $100, but I couldn't check it out because I didn't buy a plan.

Called the t-mobile store and the lady said it was $279 without service. My friend said I should only have to pay $100 with $50 mail in rebate because I am already a t-mobile customer and if the lady says otherwise I should try to bargain with her.

first question: how much should I pay for this cellphone?
second: can you bargain with cell-phone people to drive down prices?

Okay first of all...i am going to give you a suggestion...when u call in to t-mobile ask them for prices....tell what u want and what u like...after they are done giving you prices...tell them a little fib like "well i have been shopping around really dont like the phones from other service providers and really there plans are not as good as yours....wink wink.....then there gonna try to sweet talk you into telling you the pros and cons...and if they insist in not lowering the price threaten to CANCEL....that will get them....i assure you you will end up getting a way better price than the one they gave you....or even that you will not have to wait for rebate they end up giving it to you right there and then...(if a rebate is offered for phone)....see as an ex CSR represenative for t-mobile we are trained to save our customers by any means possible even if it means giving them what they want and even more.....why do you think they have been named number one customer satisfaction by JD Powers and associate for 3 years now....threaten to cancel and you'll see the difference in there tone of voice or better yet ask for supervisor they give good prices too....good luck...one more thing just to let you know when they give you a real good deal that means a two year contract comes with it ....SUCKS i know but at least you get the phone you want...

Well all I know is that when you want to get a new phone from T-mobile. The price that is reduced on the phone is if you get a new contract or you extend it for 2 more years.

If you don't do neither you buy the phone at the regular price. You do not get a discount for being a T-mobile customer which really sucks.

You can't bargain the phone I don't think.

Good Luck!
