sheet music is basically an instructional document for musicians for how to play any particular song. You have to know how to read it and also how to play the notes you read in order for the sheet music to be of any use... if not for that matter it coud be greek to you....

Sheet music refers to music that is printed on "sheets" of paper. This was the preferred method of buying popular music "in the old days" when the best way to hear a song you liked was simply to play it yourself - usually on the piano. People would often buy a single song, or sheet, on a regular basis, as opposed to buying an entire collection - much as people later bought a 45 rpm single rather than an album.

The sheet always included the musical arrangement, and if there were lyrics to the song, those were included as well.

Sheet music is still available in professional music stores, though its popularity and thus its availability have greatly declined due to massive changes in the recording industry and in the home listening systems available in this day and age.

Sheet music is written music.
It may range from one staff with the melody line (written in notes) to the full score of an orchestral piece. It may or may not have lyrics (not all music does).

Lyric sheets are not sheet music. They're just lyrics.

Yes, sheet music has all the notes written on it, and usually the lyrics too. Here's an example:

Sheet music should have both the music(notes) and the lyrics.
