In spring I'll be taking my girlfriend to Vegas, but I don't know where to stay. We'll be staying during the week, with our hotel room budget about 100 a day for three days.

She loves slots, I like to play those poker games where you can bet a penny a hand on 50 or 100 hands. I'm more or less open to anywhere that isn't scummy and is on (or very near) the Strip or Fremont. Help is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!

I appreciate the answers, but so far most have been one word suggestions of casinos that are WAY too expensive. I'm looking for 100 a night and lower.

Check out the Station Casinos.

They cater to locals, so you get a lot of cheap slots that pay out pretty well (so I've read and heard).

I've also had friends stay at one of the Stations and said it was very cheap and nice for the price.
I think they said rooms were around $40-$50/night.

Also, if you go midweek, you should be able to find places on the strip for under $100/night, like TI or NYNY or Excalibur.

Tropicana is usually around $80.
Imperial Palace is about the same.
Check out www.hotels.com -- they usually have some pretty good deals. I don't know any hotels downtown because I think downtown is scummy and would rather be on the Strip. A little farther up the Strip are the Riviera, Sahara, and the Stardust. Also inexpensive...maybe around $60/night. If it was me, I'd stay center Strip (Imperial Palace) and save the taxi money from the slightly cheaper hotels farther up the Strip...

The Luxor is a nice place to stay for under 100...it's the pyramid shaped building...also the Bellagio is extremely nice, but I think it's over 100 a night. Check online...100 a night is quite liberal, the rooms in the larger casinos are great and they aren't too expensive. As far as gambling....there are sooooo many places and I'm sure you will have a great time. what surprised me, was the price of the family type places, the rides and stuff like that...must be where they make their money!

In order to get the cheap prices you're looking for you need to check Cheaptickets.com and other internet sites.

The following hotels are usually listed on them and are under $100:

1. Monte Carlo
2. The Palms
3. Stratosphere
4. Treasure Island
5. The Luxor

For guaranteed lower rates go off the strip and stay in what is called a Station Casino.

Bally's is a great mix of location and value. Just across the streeet from the Bellagio fountains and right beside Paris, the rooms have been redone in the past few years and they do have penny slots. Typically they are around 59-99 per night during the week.

Hope this helps!

What I do is go on the hotels offical website, and they will show you their prices for up to 3 months. usually during the week days they have really good deals. You can find prices for $99 at hotels like Mandalay Bay, Paris, New York New York .You can find prices for $130-$150 for hotels like Venetians, Bellagio or the Aladdin. I've seen prices for the Aladdin for $99 dollars also.

Really any casinos are good to take her to, most have penny slots. What me and my boyfriend did was we just walked through most of the casinos and finally just spent most of our time at the ones we liked. Just walk on the strip and you are bound to find somewhere you like,

MGM Grand.
Monte Carlo - I saw $49/n between now and December 21.

However $100/night won't get you far. Nice hotels these days are $200 avg. Depends what day you're going.

You can find some good classy underground casinos on www.UndergroundPokerSociety.com, not nearly as expensive as the big ones, and twice3 as fun in my opinion.

expedia.com?

Under $100 a night anywhere near the strip is going to be scummy though.
