even if you are Beyonce's complexion it still makes me wonder (*why did she dye her hair that color*)...
Yes i have seen some cute hairstyles but i think we should leave the blond hair (and weaves) alone...why can't we take pride in our own natural hair textures and colors???

I think more black people should were dreads and other natural styles...is it just me or does anyone else feel awkard when they see a sista walk in for a job with blue or platinum bone straight weave?

I know other people dye their hair weird colors...but blond hair doesn't occur naturally in black people (unless you're aborigine)....so why do we go out of our way to look weird or fake...same with the blue contacts!

I don't like the blue or platinum. I'm not black so I can't speak from expeience but I have seen blonde styles that look great on black women. I do agree with you about taking pride in your heritage. I think more people should feel good and proud in their own skin. That's why I don't think every blonde out there should buy a double D boob job, but hair is so personal, and even you have to admit that with the same hair color and texture black women don't have that many options soooooo.......I think, do what it takes to make yourself feel beautiful so long as your not doing it to please someone else.....and be proud of who you are inside and the outside will come easy.

If your skintone fits the blonde hair why not wear it..

What about black people who are natural blondes.. I know a few, and both of their parents are black... Do they look ugly? I know that's not the normal thing for us, but it does happen, we come in allll rainbow shades and varieties.

Beyonce looks great as a blonde, and so does Mary J Blige.. I'll be honest mary's on the darker side and she's barely getting away with it.. lol.. but those dark caramels look beautiful against her skintone.

EVERYBODY can't do it.... but those who can.. why not.

(and that's commin from a natural haired woman with locks)

I agree, (the dyed blond hair) it doesn't look natural and demeans our natural beauty. It's just that people tend to conform to the Eurocentric idea of beauty. I'm not saying that there's anything wrong with the beauty of those of European heritage, but, there's this ingrained idea that the closer you are to that standard of beauty, the better you are. It goes back to slavery and the whole "house slave" /"field slave" mentality. The natural hair texture and color is indicative of a person's African roots, and many have not embraced the beauty in this, nor do they have enough love of self to do so.

I totally agree. But so many people are still being conditioned to think that weaves and perms are good for them. I'm learning to give people time. But it does bug me.

Blond hair - as people get more famous (sometimes only in their minds), their hair tends to get lighter lol. Blond apparently is the goal color for a lot of people.... so, its popular on the streets too. Yeah - its tacky.

I don't think all black people should be forced to only wear certain hair styles, I don't care what or how my ancestors may have worn their hair decades ago. My hair is naturally red with blond highlights, and I have really dark skin. I wear my hair straight because that's how I like it. And if I wanted to dye my hair platinum blond, that is just what I'll do.

you fairly shouldn't attempt this at abode - placed money right into a hairstylist. heavily. and that i'm not one. you could not lighten dark hair via applying a lighter colored boxed hair dye. the colour needs to be lifted (or stripped) via a hairstylist till now the lighter color is extra. a pair of years in the past, while i replaced into attempting to maintain a pair of pennies, i began out applying boxed color. For some unknown reason, besides the undeniable fact that it replaced into purple i replaced into after (i might had it for years), it became dark. I recommend dark brown. i replaced into horrified. I waited some days, then offered yet another container of purple color to objective and fasten it. It did not artwork, stayed an identical. discovered a stable hairstylist who recommended me you could not circulate lighter with a depressing hair dye, in undemanding terms darker. He had to strip the dark brown, then reapply the purple. It seems super now. And besides the undeniable fact that many people swear via container color, i've got not ventured there lower back! wish this helps.

Jet black hair. I have truly dark brown hair and I think dark hair looks better. I may really like blonde hair.

Etta James, Mary Wells, and Mary J. Blige are examples of black women who looked wonderful with blond hair. I also though Kelly Rowland looked great with various shades of red. In any case, why should blond hair be only for fair skinned people? I am sure you know there are few people who are naturally blond; so why don't you fault white women who choose to go blond? It's not natural for most of them either.

For the same reason that white kids dye their hair green, blue, orange, etc. Just to be different. To call attention to themselves. To be independent of traditional styles.

Obviously, a number of reasons and certainly none that should cause others concern.

Live, and let live.

Cheers!

Why do whites or asians get perms ? For a different look. So what?

Why do you care what other people do? Is it Black pride that makes you want to control your 'Sistas" or just a need to control?
