I think prostitution subjugates the most vulnerable people in society. Keeping prostitution illegal doesn't tell people how to enjoy sex, it prevents the spread of STDs and allows people to maintain a feeling of self worth.

Your question is at odds with your reason for believing such. It is one thing to believe the government should not tell people how to enjoy sex and quite another to suggest prostitution should be legalized. Rather than make it legal for women to earn a living having sex for money, why not a complete overhaul of the system so that it is possible for women to earn a decent living in other areas that do not require them to forfeit self-respect.

I don't want to state my own view about this particular issue. I just want to point out that this sort of thinking is the consequence of the U.S. Supreme Court's lie about the U.S. Constitution in Lawrence v. Texas.

And here are a couple of thing for you to chew on. "The Government" does not ever have the "right" to make anything illegal. "The Government" has POWERS -- not RIGHTS!! When will you get that into your thick skull? Second, there is more than one "government" in the United States. There is one federal government, and 50 state governments, and thousands of local governments. Please, please, PLEASE stop talking about "The Government" as if there is only one.

If you'll remember that there is more than one government and that each government has POWERS that come FROM THE PEOPLE, you'll do better.

True, but the reality is that most prostitutes do not enjoy sex. They do it because they are forced, or find themselves trapped. It is not okay to enjoy sex at someone elses expense.

I beleive your right. I sure would like to study the counties in Nevada where it is legal for sex crimes and domestic crimes compared to the one county in Nevada where it is not legal for sex crimes and domestic crimes.
Also prostitution is the worlds oldest profession that will never be stoped.
So I am not absolutely positive, but I beleive your right.

No. There is a lot of baggage attached to sex that you are obviously not aware of. Go to some health and sex websites and do some research.

Yes it should be legal. There are no laws or penalties that will ever stop it. But the good thing about it being illegal is that there are no taxes to pay.

If you think about it, anyone who works is a prostitute...selling your body to someone else to use. (I know, not sexually, but not all prostitutes have sex with their clients.)

Too bad. Break the law, go to jail. Get your name in the paper and on tv.

Our society would be ruined if it was legal.

I think it's legal in some places in Nevada
