I live in Hawaii and spam is very popular here; it has been since it was invented. At McDonald's here in Hawaii, they serve egg breakfasts that include spam. Here in Hawaii, spam is on the top of the list along side poi and rice.

My grandparents fed it to me a lot when I was a kid, usually sliced and browned in a skillet. I remember liking it. But I haven't eaten it in years. I wonder if it's made differently now, maybe more fat or something. That has happened with a lot of products over the years as manufacturers try everything to make them cheaper. (for them- not us!) Spam seemed to be pretty popular back then, but has a bad reputation now.

It is ham and something. I have to be in the mood to eat it. That happens like every 4 years, and one helping is plenty to hold me for the next 4 years. Blech!
