Get the area wet again (spray bottle filled with water works nicely!), then blot with a towel (maybe an old one that you're planning to get rid of?). This is like soaking a dirty dish that has been left sitting on the counter overnight (or longer?). Break out a case of baking soda, and sprinkle liberally over the area. Baking soda will absorb both the moisture, whatever is attached to the moisture, and the stink. Absorbing the stink is key to making sure the cat doesn't go there again! To consider-- If the urine ended up soaking into the pad under the carpet (very likely since it wasn't found for quite some time), you may need to take it all out (carpet, pad, etc) and start over. Urine in a carpet pad is NASTY!!!... and cat urine (and accompanying smell) is notoriously noxious and difficult to remove.

Well if it is a cloth interior wipe it all down with laquer thinner (seats and headliner and door panels) wash out the ashtray with baking soda and water. Use regular carpet cleaner and a scrub brush and give the carpet a good scrubbing. Leave the windows open till the carpet dries If ya leave the doors open for faster drying be sure to pull the fuse that says domelight so as not to run the battery down

Frebreez is the right product to use. But knowing what to use and how to use it on your car are two different things.

Frebreez works by bonding to the 'odors' and making it impossible for you to smell them. That being said, cigarette smoke attaches itself to everything!!

First off, spray your head liner, both sides of your sun visors, every cloth surface including the carpet under your seats, and any exposed cushions under the seats. Spary as far up under the dash as possible. If you have a garage, do this at night, roll down the windows and let it air dry.

Now, your HVAC system is going to be full of cigarette odor. Turn your heater on and set it to recirc mode. There should be an air inlet under the passenger side of the dash. Spray in that general direction to draw the frebreez to your heater core to remove that source of odor.

Leaving the fan on and in recirc mode, switch to defrost and continue spraying. Then switch to A/C but still in recir and keep on spraying. This will clean/remove odors from the HVAC system. You may have to do this several times to get all the odor out. If you forget to do the HVAC system, it would end up driving you crazy!

Hope this helps.

Febreze is amazing. Also from Yankee Candle they have a Clean Cotton Scent (I think that is the name) spray that really elminates odors.

If you have a air purifier try plugging it in and setting it in the card just shut the door all but a little for the cord...not a perfect idea but i bet it would help a lot.

I think that the spray will do the trick. :) SD

Use Febreze anti-bacteria. Spray a good amount on the fabrics, then air it out for the night. The smell should be gone the next morning.
