I don't believe there is age. Most Dr's suggest you have at least one child. The reason for that is woman who haven't had a child have a greater risk of expulsion.

I had mine inserted at 19 and was offered it at 17. However they WILL NOT insert it unless 1. You have a previous child 2. You are in a serious monogamous relationship. If you or your partner have multiple partners you are more susceptible to infections and its very difficult to treat an infection with an IUD in place. Usually they don't recommend it to young girls since usually they do change sexual partners in the course of 5-10 years.
They recommend you at least have 1 child bc your uterus will be slightly larger than that of a woman who hasn't had a child before and there fore you decrease the risk of perforation

Depends on what state you're in, though you can go get advice. They are sure to tell you that you probably don't want an IUD because of the health and sterility risks. Plus it does not protect against STD's. You're much better off going to the drugstore and buying condoms and requiring your partner to use them EVERY TIME from beginning to end. You'd be surprised how easily some women can get pregnant.

I don't believe so, I am 19 and I just got one last week a matter of fact. But I also just had my daughter 2 months prior. I say no there is not.
