If you mean Core 2 Duo, I believe for the moment anyway, Intel's dual core chips are benchmarking faster than AMD's X2 products. But, if you benchmark with your wallet then choose AMD, and save a few bucks.

Right now Intel Dual Core is the faster processor but it also cost more. Quad-core from Intel is just about the corner too.
