can you use a cellphone hands-free thing

no -plug it in the back pink or blue hole in tower. cellphone has a built in mike. you need a mike. also in your prgrams in accesories you have sound recorder and an auto mike in there some programs use that one to record talk

Hi. The microphone will have a 1/8" plug on the end of it (usually) which plugs into the 1/8" jack on your computer of soundcard.

Not without special adapters...

Computers generally have mic, line out, and headphones/speakers ports on the back...

Cellphone hands free devises use a hybrid Mic/Headphones plug that would need a special adapter to work with individual Mic and Headphones ports.

On most computers, all you now need to do is connect a microphone (with a mini-type connector) directly through a plug on the computer. That should do it.
