I have been watching the news lately and all Bush ever says is that we can't leave Iraq. I think he continues to tell us to stay without giving us enough reason to.
Do you think it could have anything to do with the fact he has focused his presidency on "the war on terrorism" that admiting he was wrong would mean that his whole administration failed? He was so focused on that and other stupid things (no child left behind, patriot act, etc.) that other important things like health care and immigration reforms were never given enough attention.
I'm not ranting on what a horrible president he is, I'm sure it's difficult to be in his shoes.

Bush simply cannot admit his mistakes. From 9/11 through the 2004 elections, it was 'unpatriotic' to criticize him and his policies. He took full advantage of that mindset and set so many things in motion that will hurt this country for years to come. He surrounded himself with people who did not serve him or this country very well. Cheney and Rumsfeld have just led him to make one wrong move after the other. Ironically enough, after the 2004 elections when Bush declared he had earned some 'political capital' and intended to spend it, everything has gone to hell for him. The Press finally woke up after Katrina. So did the rest of the nation. It became more and more evident that the "emperor had no clothes". It is all-consuming for Bush that Iraq succeed. He is looking to be able to say "I told you so". At this point, it looks like he won't have the opportunity before he leaves office. I have added a link to a column that Eleanor Cliff wrote for Newsweek about Bush and his relationship with his father. Very interesting points are made.

You watch to much news. whether it's abc, nbc, cbs, cnn, msnbc, these are all liberal (Democrat media). Fox leans toward the republican. You need to watch bi-partism political shows.By the way Both parties agree when to stay for now, and put more pressure for Iraq to take over. The war was very successful. We are in war. we lost 3,000 over 3 years. In WWII we lost over 400,000. I guess we expected after the Iraq Government was set up that they would move quickly. They didn't. We won the war in two countries in 2 weeks. Remember our Militray is not trained to be Nation builders. They don't teach that at West Point or the Naval Academy. No doubt in fact we were to nice. We let the soldeirs return to their homes. That didn't make sense. I blame that on Rumsfield. That's some 300,000 soldiers with their guns etc.. So i'm sure they are giving us a lot of problems. Plus there we 50,000 bathist party personnel we put out of a job. We shouldn't have eliminated all of their jobs.

problem is the real story why we are there isn't in the news.

Cheney wants to put a oil pipeline across Iraq and Afghanistan. if you look up this oil line and place it on a map then look up where our bases are over there, you'll see a perfect match.

in Bush's eyes we can't leave cause his mission there isn't done...it had nothing to do with freeing the people, WMD, none of the BS the media feeds you. Remember who controls the media....the oil tycoons.

Research it up the ladder of business owners and you'll realize CBS, NBC, etc are all owned by big oil tycoons. The TV is nothing more than a tube for them to say what they please....not what the truth is.

When we first got there and he stood on a ship and said "mission accomplished" he wasn't talking about Iraq but our oil companies seizing control of the wells over there. They then shut them off to increase gas prices here, in turn allowing the oil companies to make record profits as well as now controlling more oil fields.

The world revolves around money, not pain, suffering, human needs....money and only money.

He needs to understand even if we achieve 'victory' and withdraw from Iraq we'll have to constantly work with Iraq afterward for stability. Military solution is not all there is to it. He doesn't get it, the fact that withdrawl before his so called 'complete victory' doesn't neccesarly mean defeat for the US. He's letting terrorists and secretarian militias dictate the direction of this war and doesn't seem to be able to find a way to take real control.
