Got a question for network gurus. We're getting a sporadic problem here in which Web browsers (Firefox/IE both) tell us a site is unavailable, but other apps (IM, Outlook, and ping) can connect to the net just fine. I've tried ipconfig /flushdns, and ipconfig /all shows that we're hitting the ISP's DNS servers. Any ideas on stuff to look at? Any recommended sites/forums for troubleshooting this?

I'd wager that you have a bad DNS server. Queries are timing out. If this is a public DNS server (as opposed to an Active Directory environment) try using 151.164.1.7. It's an old SBC DNS server that is still on line but not heavily used these days. No saying how long it will remain on line, but I've used it in Europe and China with excellent results.
