Why do people write down everything they did and their kids did in the last year, print it out on holiday and paper and send it out to everyone they know? Do they really think people care that they got a new hot water heater? Why do they feel the need to tell us where they went everytime they got away for the weekend? Do I really need to know that they got their bathroom redone??
I really wish they would just spare me! Do you do this to people? Does anyone really find these interesting and/or appealing?

When I just read the title of your question, I thought, oh bec people just love to show off & boast about themselves, but after reading the question, I think these people just want to feel connected to others. It is boring as hell, that stuff, but they just want to belong, to have family, you know? But I agree, a hot water heater is pretty bad to put in a xmas newsletter! It is almost funny though!!!

Geez, I have a friend who sends one every year, one year she wrote about her septic tank. I love reading them, makes me realize that no matter how far apart we are, some things never change.

they just wan ki other shd know abt wat they r doing 4 ther family
just wan to show other how much they spend,freek out,how much they earn to make understand people abt there family status.....
they r fool how do this by this they r creating problems to themself b'coz they r giving chaces to other to ask some help,they r inviting other to break ther status coz this is INDIA people r jealous abt other....
