This group is made up of youth and adults and would like to increase it's membership but instruments are needed by potential members.Our timpani drums were used when we got them twelve years ago and are now on their "last legs". Help!

Check with local schools and colleges, they usually donate instruments when they upgrade. Also in my state, we have a warehouse that is part of the department of education where discarded school items are kept. I got a gorgouse French horn there for $5. Also, try writing/calling/contacting companies that produce instruments. If you can prove that you are a non-profit organization, they may be willing to donate to you. Or contact large corporations in your area and let them know what you are trying to do, newspapers, etc. I used to solicit donations for non-profit organizations that worked with kids, so I know that it may take a bit of legwork, but usually people have big hearts for good causes.
