For all three of my children I warmed their bottles in the microwave. It helped that we used powdered formula and we only made one bottle at a time. I just warmed the water for about 15-20 seconds in a separate bottle (time all depends on your microwave) and then poured the water into the powder. All the shaking mixes up the water and removes those hot spots. We never had a burned mouth, so I say that we were quite successful in keeping it safe. This might seem like a lot of work by only making one bottle at a time....but at least it kept us from wasting so much formula!
Never Ever warm a bottle in hot water with the nipple on! The nipples will retain heat much longer than the plastic bottle will. A baby's burned mouth is much worse than it would be for you. They will not eat well, or at all, if they have a burn in their mouth. This is why we did the bottles the way we did them.

Although there's no medical reason to do it, many parents continue to warm-up baby formula. Improperly done, heating can harm your baby.

Microwave ovens heat formula quickly, but can result in burns in your baby's mouth from formula that's too hot. If the bottle is heated with the nipple on, the result is often a very hot nipple which can burn the baby's palate.

To illustrate just how serious these burns can be consider one infant who was burnt with a hot nipple. She developed a defect in her hard palate that required hospitalization, surgery, and tube feedings.

If you want to heat your baby's formula, do it carefully. Check not only the temperature of the formula, but the bottle and nipple. Since the microwave heats unevenly, you will need to stir the formula in the bottle to ensure that it's not lukewarm on the outside of the bottle and scalding hot in the middle.

Depends on the bottle. I put mine in a plastic container under the tap and leave hot water running over it (it warms up faster, mabye three-five minutes only.) also to warm it up even faster then that is to twirl it while its in the hot water. Avoid using a microwave and its not the easiest because you need to mix it after using it and find the right temperature to warm it up in.

Bottle warmer, or place the bottle in hot water (remove the nipple before warming). Shake before serving, and be sure to test the temperature of the formula before you give it to your baby.
Do NOT use the microwave, as it creates hot spots.

water from the stove, or putting the bottle with water in it and sticking it in boiling water, then adding the formula. i took child development last year and my teacher told me to never stick a bottle in the microwave, because there can be hot spots that you may not be able to feel, and it can make the chemicals from the nipple go into the formula that your baby is drinking.

Place the bottle in a container of warm water.

Microwaving and overheating on the stove destroy certain nutrients.

Put the bottle in hot water. DO NOT NUKE.

If you have to nuke, then nuke the water, then put the bottle in it.
