All these people are full of it,
I've lived in Houston my whole life and the key to navigating in any big city is keep your wits about you. If you think it's getting ghetto, well then it probably is. Don't know what you're coming into town for but just stay out of the Wards and you'll be alright. Down by the Stadiums and around the south is a little dodgy at times but you will probably have no business there anyway. I live on the Southeast Side ( Clear Lake ) it's nice around there. But for shopping and all the BS just stay in the loop Galleria area and you'll be fine.

you're able to desire to renowned the way hurricanes artwork. they're very unpredictable. Oh definite the weathermen have computing device fashions that can supply an theory the place they might circulate. might being the considerable be conscious. they actually won't be able to inform you one hundred% what cities get the main hurricanes. Houston has basically as plenty hazard as the different city it is an identical distance from the coast of having a typhoon. remember that till now Katrina, New Orleans had not had a typhoon in an prolonged time and growth they get hit with between the main important in history. you in addition to mght might desire to renowned the way torrnados artwork. Houston isn't in what's seen torrnado alley. i've got faith it is predicated around the state of Kansas yet i'm unsure. So we don't get as many tornados as they do. it fairly is like saying a city that may not on the coast won't get as many hurricanes as a city it is. even though if, a torrnado can take place in Houston. I actually have a house in Houston. I stay approximately 0.5 a mile from a bayou. (in case you do not know what a bayou is, it fairly is an open drainage ditch that takes rain water to the sea). My flood coverage is like $one hundred a three hundred and sixty 5 days. i don't have toddlers and do plan on having any toddlers so i will't remark on faculties and chidren events. i'm additionally in an prolonged term courting of 12 years and that i not do the nightlife factor yet while i replaced into single i found it very pleasurable.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned Guns Point.
Greens Point Mall isn't the best mall to be stranded at waiting for a cab to pick you up after the mall closes. The apartments look nice but the bullets fly kinda fast in some areas there too. I45 &1960 is pretty safe though, and Spring is nice.

Houston is NOT that bad, these people are crazy, I've lived in almost every "section" of Houston at some point in time. You can plainly see when things are getting sketchy. When you see this turn around, as long as you have some common sense you'll be alright.

Southern areas of town, especially Southeast. A better way to think of it would be which areas should you travel in. Generally, west of downtown between I-10 and Highway 59 are a safe bet inside Loop 610. But we are a big city, so watch your surroundings wherever you go!

Hope this helps!

Most definitely SE. It has really gotten bad since Katrina hit New Orleans and we have their gangs and crooks and every sort of criminal activity going on. People are afraid to come out of their apt. for fear of being shot at or hit by a stray bullet.
Of course it trickles all over the City of Houston but SE Houston is real bad.
Then we have the illegals standing around all over Houston. Graffiti everywhere they can stick it (Artwork put to waste). They too bring a large element of crime. So many gangs. They just as soon kill you as look at you, yet they wear the cross around their necks. Can't speak English and my greatest fear is being in a situation like an accident and we can't communicate.
I live in NW Houston, YEP !! here too.
Sorry I got carried away here but I am sick of all the trash they create in our beautiful city.
Have A Beautiful Christmas, Stay safe, watch your back !!!

Stay away from the southside. People get murdered there every 1/2 a second. Looking for a nice area to live, come to Jersey Village.

I never go outside of Loop 610. I avoid the suburbs because of mindless ego centric people more interested in keeping up with the Bushes than helping your fellow human beings.
