I think it's a distinct possibility. We just signed Pettite to a one year contract and that helps the starting rotation. They're poised to sign Igawa so they'll have three lefties on staff. Lefthanded pitching does well at the stadium. There's talk that they may get rid of Pavano maybe opening the door to signing Zito? Even if we don't the starting rotation is very good and our lineup is an allstar team.
2007 is the Yankees year.

Well, they're the Yankees, so there is always the possibility of them "going all the way". They will without a doubt be able to hit the snot out of the ball, but I'm not sold on their pitching. Also, whether you choose to believe it or not, chemistry does count a little towards sucess (Examples: Washington Redskins, New York Mets and Yankees, a good example would be the less-skilled New England Patriots, and the Saint Louis Cardinals.) The Red Sox and Blue Jays will also be harder than ever to get through.

they should win their division for the 10th straight year, but maybe not as easily as last year. the return of andy pettite is a big boost as would a return by that clemens guy, but the staff should be fine even without the rocket. the lineup is the lineup, and they won't miss sheff one bit. the only question mark i see is a right handed hitting firstbaseman not named andy phillips and filling out the bench (also known as re-signing miguel cairo, lol) if the starters stay healthy they'll threaten 1000 runs scored as they were poised to do last year before a couple of wrist injuries ripped out the middle of the lineup

They still have most of their all star line up in tact. They have Wong, Mussina, and Petitte for a good solid three man play off rotation. Plus they have that guy in the back of the bull pen they call The Sand Man. The key will be how A-Rod performs :)

On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the highest, maybe a 3. They need pitching, and they are a dispirited group of overpaid prima donnas!!

Chow!!
