Yes, it's certainly possible to raise your IQ. You may have a genetic prerequisite for a high IQ, but you have to nurture it to develop your high IQ or it will never manifest.

How you boost your IQ is by training your logic. Do logic puzzles, play logic games, try to improve your analytical skills. Your IQ isn't how much you know, but how well you can figure things out. When you train your brain to spot patterns and make complex plans, your IQ improves.

Here are examples of those logic games and puzzles: http://www.conceptispuzzles.com/index.htm

Believe it or not, playing strategy games may also help since the whole point of these games is to think ahead and adapt to a set of complex rules.

Depends on the test.

Most good tests have a retestability factor of about r=~0.9. This means that there is some variation, and you IQ can change.

It is generally acknowledged that with training you can increase your IQ as much as 15% of its value with no training.

In order to do so you must specifically train to take the test. You must practise questions similar to IQ test questions, in an environment like an IQ test, and learn more ways to solve problems.

You're not supposed to do that though, as IQ is sort of supposed to be an 'innate ability' :p

The short answer is yes, but I must point out that there is more to life than having a high IQ. Your other traits, honor, loyalty etc... along with good common sense will really determine how you are looked at. I read once, and I apologise for I can't recall the author right now and I won't try to quote him, but he basically said, give me a loyal, honest bum of little education to one of education and no moral scruples. This has always stuck with me and I believe it to be true.
