The factory system led to changes in where people lived. Factories are located in cities and for many people who lived on farms, it was too far to go to work in the city and drive home to the farm. Many left the farm for factory work and began living closer to cities and in the cities. When a drastic change such as this occurs, you see several changes. First you see an end to the cottage system then you see an increase in production. This also encourages people to move to the cities. This changes the relations of many people for the better. For the first time different races were working together, even men and women working together. By forcing people together,sometimes it works out for the best. People and their social skills and tolerances improve
