My husband has purchased many items from ebay. Mostly Nitro powered RC's which in the stores here cost over a grand he got his for 800 or less on ebay. He has also purchased parts for them and had no problems. Ive only shopped on ebay once and I didnt have any problems and everything once recieved was as promised on the site. However, there was one time my husband placed a winning bid on a "bundle" and paid the guy and a month later had still not recieved what he had paid for. He had the guys address, he contacted ebay {and had he used paypal ebay would have resoloved the matter without law enforcement} then he had to call the police in the town where the guy lived. 2 months after the purchase was made and 1 month and 3 weeks after the guy cashed the money order the items arrived. And this guy had a great sellers history and all his feedback was positive. It really is just based on who you deal with I think most people are honest and you should give it a try.

E-bay is reliable. It's the sellers that you have to be wary and careful about.

There are circumstances when buyers did not get the merchandise they ordered, and/or the merchandise was not as described.

When notified, E-bay has a team that researches and follows-up on scam sellers. As always: Buyer Beware! Check the ratings of the Seller, even that doesn't guarantee satisfaction with what you purchase.

I would never buy camera equipment online from a stranger.

Just look at the seller's feedback. Actually go in there and read what other buyers have said about the seller.

If there are excessive negatives, then dont buy. However usually negatives are from buyers who didnt read the auction properly or just felt ripped off although they themselves bidded.

Just make sure you read feedback and MOST IMPORTANTLY read ALL THE TERMS the seller has put forth in the auction. You don't want to miss something the seller will expect of you later after you win the auction.

Otherwise, ebay is mad nice you save lots of cash.

I baught 2 cameras from there- one of them's flash didn't work, but it said that in the item describtion- the other one, no problems with it! Make sure you read the describtion and you know what you're getting. If you get the item and it's not what it said it was or doesn't look like the picture and you used your credit card, you can reverese the charge and send it back. I baught a Kodak and Fuji. Just read what you're buying and you'll be good to go!

good luck!

eBay is not an actual store. It is a place where individual sellers sell things. You must look at the seller's rating to see if their products and shipping are reliable and also read the item description carefully before buying something on eBay.

Ebay is good and reliable sometimes! It depends on the people who sell stuff and who you buy them from. I recomend to you that before buying anything from someone you make sure that the person has good feedback from previous costumers and that you make sure that what youre buying is what you need. I've used it before and I really like it!

With electronics u are really taking your chances. Why doen't U wait or research the camera at the local stores to see if its really worth it. Sales are coming up here and there and there is a HUge chance you can buy it at the store for cheaper. Take advantage of rebates. Keep copies of all and tract them online. Good luck!

yes ebay is REALLY reliable. my mom buys everything we own from there. but onley buy from people who have good feedback. my mom bought a phone from a man with bad feedback and once my mom paid him we never heard from him again but finally ebay tracked him down. but if u buy from a good feedback seller youre sure to get the items you need quickly with no problems.

Ebay is about as reliable as it gets. That is, the site is.

Anyone can sell things on ebay, and, although they USUALLY can be trusted, it is not the site's fault if the item does not arrive or is damaged when it does.

Short answer: NO.

Long answer: It's as good as handing your credit card information to a stranger in a prim-and-proper suit, trusting him to convey your payment to a third party who you trust will send your exact product in a working condition and in a timely manner.
