That's tough, tell them that you might like a tutor, that could be good?

Is it a progress report or a report card?..As a teacher, a progress report it to let you know how you are doing, but also is letting you know how much time you have to make up the grade. I would honestly go through with telling my parents, but also go out of your way to talk to your teachers and tell them how you really want to try and work on getting a better grade in your classes. I would see what it is that you have to do, to make up those grades. Then you can also tell your parents that you made the mistake and slacked off, but that you already took the responsibility to talk with your teachers. Tell your parents that your teacher said you could do "xy and z" to get the grades picked back up.
Obviously you don't need me to tell you to get your grades up, but since you are a freshman now is the time to make good grades so your GPA will look great your senior year.
Also, for future reference doing your homework is usually worth more overall...I know in HS if I did all my homework and came to school everyday, then if I got a bad grade on a test, doing all that extra work didn't make my grades go down so bad.
Best of luck--You are going to get yelled at, but at least you have a few weeks to try to make it up...see if there is any Extra Credit or tutoring that you can do to make up the HW.

Don't hide from your mistakes. This is what we call "a teachable moment"--it's one for you because you're going to admit your errors and what you are going to do to fix things AND it's one for your parents because they are going to learn that their son is growing up and accepting responsibility for his (your) actions. You might even suggest your own "punishment." That should impress them in a good way.
Tell them just what you wrote here: you know you are a better student than what the progress report shows and that you know what the problem is (late hw) and will turn things around starting today by staying on top of your assignments. Have a talk with your teacher, too, to let him/her know you want to turn things around and ask them for their help and guidance.

I think that you should show it to them but...also make sure to point out that it is a progress report and that you have several more weeks and a lot more chances to pull the grades up. Then you need to work hard and pull them up. If you hide it and not show it then you will think about it all the time and make yourself sicker. Best to just get it over with.

Try to negotiate with your teachers and see if there is a possibility for extra credit. Also, don't hide the progress report from your parents because this will ultimately result in more trouble. Tell them how disappointed you are in yourself and that you are very sorry for having disappointed them.
And get your homework in on time!! Your future depends on it!

I had a bad progress report my first time in high school. My advice show it to your parents, Tell them that you need help trying to cope being in high school. Then look at it as a warning, to get you butt in gear.

well are your parents the type who would go to the school or call your teacher? If so then just show it to them. If not burn it, hide it in a good place, or throw it away.

Talk to your teachers to see what you can do to raise your grades. Don't hide it from your parents because they will find out. Trust me, they ALWAYS find out.
