Don't believe me? Do your own casual survey in Starbuck's etc.

High fashion is almost completely different from what you see at Starbuck's because many women can't afford the stuff on the runway and are maybe too scared to try some of the trends out. However, many women find easy to wear stuff inspired by the runways at stores and they make it their own. Jeans + top has a bit more variety than you think. And plus--look at tights and leggings. High fashion AND at the local Starbucks. Some stuff translates.

Obviously there's no real "fashion hype" if everyone is wearing the same thing... Have you really looked, though, at the style and/or brand they are wearing? A lot of the "hype" or trends are created by brand marketers to get you to buy their styles and name brands.

It's not like that at all where I live.

Then again, I'm a theatre major. We're more creative than jeans and tops.
