I feel horrible but I had to put in a 2-week notice today. It really caught them offguard. I feel bad.

I always have felt bad about it too, but you have to do what's best for you and your situation at the time. You did a good thing by giving them a 2-weeks notice though, and it shows courtesy by not just quitting then and there like many people do. Just get through the 2 weeks and it will so be worth it in the end when you don't have to go back to work there and move on to better things!!!
Hope this helps ( ;

I'm with the first guy!! But you know.. you gotta do what you gotta do! At least you gave them 2 weeks and didn't just stop showing up.. I's a harsh world out there and if they really felt bad theyd offer your more incentives!!

I'm with you. I generally try to give as much notice as i can. But not so much as they decide to let me go before i am ready to leave!

My only advice is to write up lots of job notes, so you can hand them over to your replacement and make the transition as smooth as possible for them.

Good luck :-)

I feel bad about it to, but sometimes you have to move on. Two weeks is sometimes awkward but it is better than burning bridges.
