he is almost full and probably he is sleepy too at the same time. has anybody else experienced it with their child? and does anyone know what and why it happens? its really a scary sight to see him jerking that way. when will this effect go away from him? hope it is only temporary.

When my son is almost full and has had enough but I try to force another couple bites into him, he kind of tucks his chin, and shudders. This makes his little head kind of shake back and forth and he makes a little "ugh ugh ugh" sound.

Now, I'm not sure what's going on with YOUR child, but if sounds anything like what my son does, relax, it's not a seizure, that's just his way to tell you "No more Mommy, I'm full!"

If it DOESN'T sound like what my son is doing, and you actually suspect some kidn of seizure activity, call your pediatrician right away and report what you're seeing!! Also be careful because if he truly is siezing, and has food in his mouth, he could choke.

You should talk to your baby's doctor about this.

It is normal for babies to occasionally give a little jerk when they taste certain foods. They get excited or are surprised by a new flavor. ... But if the ticks and jerks are happening enough to make you worry, or on a regular basis, then by all means you should go speak with the doctor. He may simply suggest different foods, or it could be an early sign of something that really needs to be checked out.

A sound that is sudden will jerk anyone. But having acutally seizures is something you have to watch but not really be worried. Maybe might have an allergic reaction to the food. But if he is having seizures, i don't want to be the one to tell you but he might have an abnormality in the brain where he has seizures. he may grow out of them but at the same time, he could have them for the rest of his life. I pray that he don't have them because you might feel over protected over him. But he can have a great life with them. if he have them, don;t treat them like a disability. Maybe it is something he will grow out of. but talk to a doctor anyway so if he does, know early.

Maya used to jerk sometimes. I talked to my doc about it, and they even observed it, but said it was not unusual, especially when children were nodding off. She doesn't do it anymore, and now that I think about it I cannot remember the last time she did. Butyou need to talk to your ped to find out if it is normal or not.
