It's been many years but still can't shake that feeling/memory. Do you just supress it or have you found an outlet?

This is going to sound impossible and wrong but bear with me.

Ultimately you need to forgive the people who did this to you. Forgive, now that's hard. Because they deserve to have people thinking bad thoughts about them. But "forgive" not in that you are letting them off the hook like it's not important. Forgive like you've stopped holding a grudge against them. This is not about them being forgiven, it's about you being able sometimes to let go of the anger and the hurt.

And in those moments while you've let it go you can really feel the weight off your shoulders. And a lot of healing happens right then because you are relieved of a lot of what you always carry around.

If the moment goes away, let it. Then later try again and as you get better at not holding on to your anger you'll be in that healing place more and more for longer and longer. Eventually you will likely always be there because you have just gotten out of the habit of feeling shitty.

It gives you a rest that eventually lasts so long it's living and not resting.

I wish you the best of luck and determination.

Supression is never good, I think I will try to accept the fact that it happend and realized that it wasn't my fault at all. Talk to a therapist that I feel comfortable and trust and surround myself with caring loving people who are supportive and understanding.
Sorry you had to go through that.. good luck with everything!

Music's been my salvation.. That and beer. Seriously, meditation and doin something you love (music, art whatever) are a good start. Maybe and talking to someone you trust like a counselor.
The memory never goes away but the pain should fade.

There are certain feelings that will take very long to get rid off. and usually it does not help to just make it seem like these feelings do not exist, you should seek counseling and engage in phisical activites (things you may like to do) in order to forget about it. When you find yourself doing things that you love to do you will find life more meaningful and that can make a big difference.

Talking to a friend always helps but if you are really having problems dealing with it, and most people do, then professional counseling needed.

The best thing to do is talk to someone about it. They can raise and help answer questions that can help you.
