Surely if it's the boogeyman my highly trained monkey would have alerted me already.

Your tiles possibly??

If it is a windy night indeed, but seeing as I'm at work, underground, with no windows I couldn't be certain without venturing out

But saying that I could be in a different part of the country, or a different country altogether for that matter.

To be sure, stick a brolly out of your window and put it up, if it whips inside out then its probably the wind and your tiles....

If not, then shut your window and dive for your covers!!! Move, move, move!!!!

:o)

It could be squirrels... red squirrels are the worst. Red Squirrels tend to enter through soffits and make their winter nest in your ceiling/floor. I am not sure if they are just set to 0220 HOURS for roaming; however if in fact you determine that it is Red Squirrels, call a professional exterminator that speiclizes in these crafty beasts. I had to remedy this situation some time ago and the squirrels were very protective of their (MY) home. I wish you the best of luck.... When the squirrels were in my ceiling/floor, they tended to roam at 1640 more often than 0220 :)
Hope this helps.

I doubt that it is squirrels, I think it is more likely something that is nocturnal at that hour, like a racoon, if it is an animal. Otherwise, if it is not an animal, then the branches of a tree or something falling out of the tree, like seed pods or nuts, that are big enough to catch the wind and get blown around a bit.

On your roof or IN your roof? Could be glis glis, depends where you live. These are also known as Roman Edible Dormice but they aren't mouse size they are more like chinchilla size - perhaps Madonna's been up there trying to catch them to make a nice cozy hat to match her new coat! If you do have "little visitors" you'll have to call in pest control to trap them.

you got roof rats or maybe even raccoon's roof rats you need to poison but if its raccoon's you will find them outside on roof the rats love to move inside and come out to play about same time every night.only trouble with poison is they may die inside then you will have a rotting dead animal stinking to high heaven so trapping is best option.

Absolutely anything!

On the plus side, if it turns out to be just your tv aerial, at least you can get the monkey to put it back for you. :)
