Sometimes the door ajar light stays on and the dome light stays on for a long time before it finally goes out. I don't see a switch anywhere and didn't want to pull a door panel off unless I have to. Maybe it has another problem? Thanks!

Most Fords have the switch in the door latch now. To get to it you'll have to take the door panels off. If your not good with cars do not try it as there can be hidden bolts and screws. Not being a smart -ss but did you check the dimmer switch for the dome light being turned on. I work at a dealer and you would not believe how many times we find the dome light stay on because its turned on .Goo luck hope I helped

There should be a pin switch inside each door jamb. These days it's probably got a rubber boot on it. They used to unscrew from the front side of the switch and you can check it for voltage and continuity with a multimeter or VOM. You didn't have to take the door apart to check them in "the olden days" and I wouldn't think they'd make THIS more difficult than it needs to be.
