you need to find out what type of memory you have and make sure that they are the same type and speed. RAM is defined by the pinout, the speed and the latency and all 3 need to match your motherboard's capabilities.

its possible that if one computer is faster than the other the RAM may run in the other one - assuming it is the same type. If one computer is slower, its RAM will likely cause stabiltiy problems in the faster computer.

Some examples of RAM

SIMM 72-pin (EDO RAM)
DIMM 168-pin (SDRAM)
DIMM 184-pin (DDR SDRAM)
DIMM 240-pin (DDR2 SDRAM)

see the photos in the reference below

if you have a computer with only 128MBytes of RAM it is likely SD-RAM. The 512 MBytes could be the same or a newer type.

to audit your computer try the free Belarc Advisor
http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html...
or Sisoft Sandra
http://www.sisoftware.net/

both of which can readout your motherboard, RAM, Hard Drives, CPU etc.

YES U CAN.

IF they are single sticks of 128 and 512,there's no problem swapping as long as the comp with the 128(i assume it is older) supports 512MB of 'similar'(dont mix ddr sd and rd rams.they should both be of same type) ram.

nice 2 help

All depends on the types of RAM being used. Is it DDR? PC100/133 (SDram)? You can tell the difference between the two by looking at them. Check these out for reference.

this is DDR ram, you can tell it is this type by the single notch near the middle.

This is PC100/133 (SDRAM) ram. You can tell this by the two notches on it.

if the two sticks of ram are the same type, yes, you can swap them. otherwise you will not be able to even fit the ram into the slot ^_^

Good luck!

The Cummins is a plenty heavier engine than the gas, front suspension, truck physique, gas tank, gas transport, exhaust adjustments, and the suitable electronics would be REQUIRED, to not point out a clean transmission. The diesel engine device cluster may well be a advantageous touch too. i'm particular i've got neglected a half dozen products or so yet my spouse is calling me for dinner.

only i f they are the same speed and type. you may have pc2700 for the 512 and pc100 for the 128 , in which case you wouldn't be able to swap.

Siempre he estado contenta con las compras y los productos que he recibido de sitios web, lo último que he comprado ha sido una memoria RAM de 1 Gb, la memoria se ha hecho su función y se puede ver claramente el cambio así que seguro que voy a comprar otra.

As long as they are the same type...as in PC2700 or PC3200 and/or SDRAM vs. DDR Ram you will be ok. If they are different then bad things may happen.

It depends on the type, speed, and physical size!
