being poor really poor is not knowing if the electricity will be on the next day, whether this is enough food to feed everyone, being ashamed to go to public aid but going through because there is no choice left. scrounging up some pennies so you and your little girl can share a snow cone treat during a walk. I know what it is like to be poor growing up wearing hand-me shoes with holes in the soles. but you know what honestly what I lacked in money then and not as much so now, I gained in seeing the importance in other things. I love my children and my husband and I try to provide the best we can, even if it is hideNseek thru the house with flashlights with the kids on a Saturday night or fishing with hot dogs at the park. You just gotta make the best of what you got while you are here.

it means no cable tv, no internet at home (i am on My girlfriend's computer-yes I am a guy) no telephone at home, dont have my own car, right now I am out of work I am living off the money I have saved. I should have a job 1st week of jan. so anyway I am not sponging off anyone. But you know what? there are people out there with no food or a home, so I am not whining. There are people dying because they are poor. I thank the Lord for all that I do haVE. 2 CONSTANTS IN LIFE THAT APPLY NO MATTER WHO YOU ARE. 1. THINGS CAN ALWAYS BE WORSE
2. AS BAD AS YOU MAY HAVE IT, THERE IS ALWAYS SOMEONE OUT THERE WHO HAS IT WORSE

There's a lot less to take care of if a person is poor, in many cases less debt! Sure, not having enough money to cover bills is rough, but there's no boat, huge house, or 5 cars to maintain and you don't have to swipe your credit card weekly to keep up with the Jones'.

Rich, wise King Solomon said at Ecclesiastes 5:12, "Sweet is the sleep of the one serving, regardless of whether it is little or much that he eats; but the plenty belonging to the rich one is not permitting him to sleep."

It's hard. Growing up I watched everyone around me have the smallest of items, knowing I would never have one. My mother struggled to have food in the house that would last the whole month until she got her welfare check for the next month. We didn't get new school clothes and birthdays and Christmas we had each other. We didn't have a car, we walked every where. We grew up in Alaska, can you imagine walking 2 miles to the grocery store in 40 below weather to buy groceries? Taking the bus home with them so you didn't have to try carrying them home in the snow? We got made fun of at school because our clothes weren't new and in style, because our mom didn't have a car and we had to walk. It sucked, but it was a blessing too, because I appreciate everything I get and I take care of it and when times are bad now I can handle it, because I've lived through worse.

Being financially comfortable would be nice..but being poor isn't so bad either. Got friends and family and great weather here in the south..so life is good.
