I had a yeast infection beginning in September, and it just started to go away in November. It used to be really painful to urinate, but my symptoms would clear up just before my period. Now urination isn't painful anymore but the area outside the vagina is still sore. Any idea what the cause is or what I can do about it? I am not sexually active.

Are you wearing very tight jeans or panties? Are the panties made out of lace or anything that could rub the outside? Also, have you changed laundry soap or softener lately. I can't use anything with bleach built in. That is a likely cause because you sweat and that is where the irritation will start. If you have changed, change back. Aslo if you changed soap or use baby wipes, they can cause an adult problems. Just start eliminating things and use pure soap and dry well. Use baby powder to stop rubbing. That is all I can think of. Oh yeah, you may try some benadryl cream for now at night while sleeping to stop the irritation. Good luck.

Did you treat your yeast infection yourself or did you see a doctor. A Yeast infection should be gone within a few days not 2 months. Go back to the doc because the soreness could be caused by an infinte number of problems. You need a proper diagnosis.

some people are just more prone to get yeast infections. keep clean and dry. avoid using products that have added fragrances to clean yourself. you might have urinary tract infection too. drink lots of water and cranberry juice can help. avoid wearing nylon or silky underwear. it keeps the heat in and adds to possibibilities of infection. you definitely need to keep your doctor informed and follow her instructions. you could have more serious problems later if you don t.

If you shave in that region you may need to stop. If you wear tight underwear it can also be the cause. If the problem persists, you should go to your gyno about it. Good luck.

Have you changed what soap you wash with? You may have some kind of reaction to your soap that can cause burning down there! I know it sounds gross but try not washing down there with soap just rinse with cool water!!
