I always thought 9/11 was an opportunity for him because American reaction will be to support the president no matter who he might be.
Subsequently to 9/11, he used the terror alert constantly to keep support up and to increase his ratings.
What's your observation?

If you are judging Bush as inept, most leaders would be classified as inept. Rarely do leaders shine unless they have charisma, but that doesn't mean they have any skills as a leader. Many just have good showmanship. The American press has been accepted for their showmanship. They haven't offered 1 solution to any problem. Rarely do I hear the whiners offer thought out solution. In fact to date the total number I've seen them supply is a BIG ZERO.

I'm sure any President would love to have the ability/power you imply he has. At the same time you wish he had even less.

I'll offer up a solution have both possible electable parties offer up for the voters approval individuals with a vision on how to create wealth for the world, or even our country. I can count only 3 in my life time presidents that have fit that bill - Eisenhower, JFK, & Reagan.

Finally If you were in their position would you be able to pass your own test?

Just because the majority of other presidents were not very good ones doesn't make it OK for him to be a bad president. I'm so tired of people and their stubborn views. Just admit it. He is wrong. He needs to admit it himself. Great presidents can handle problems effectively. That is why the Democrats have majority now. The public is not pleased.
And yes I'm sure the public would've figured out his ineptitude sooner or later---well, they did in 2000 because he did not have the most votes, but he still won.

My observation is that you'd be happier on DailyKOS or DemocraticUnderground.

You confuse this place w/ a political blog site.

We can make the same comments about Clinton if you think it would change anyone's mind. Personally, I think that you're wasting space.

What are you gonna do for the next election? Run against Bush again? How about an idea for what should be done to fix things?

Why would it show up earlier if not for9/11. If he was inept, it would have shown up in the previous 8 months before the attacks.

9/11 was his proving ground. That is when he showed America & the world what we was made of.

No, however the ineptitude of the DNC was greater cause they had no idea how to win elections until this term.

I thought his poor leadership began to swirl around in the toilet when he misidentified terrorists and started all of that cowboy shoot 'em up talk after 9/11.
