Get the Epiphone. Great instrument for the money. Stay away from the Starcaster.

I think Les Paul and Fender may be out of your budget. Epiphone makes a good instrument.

Go with the Epiphone. My boyfriend plays in our band, and he loves his Epiphone. Check out http://www.musiciansfriend.com because they have good sales, and you can get used and refurbished guitars at a great price!

If its your first guitar go with a fender.
I have one myself and it is a pretty good guitar.

try for a squier by fender maybe
