Yup, spousal and child support is not limited to women only. It's just that typically, it's women who are not earning. Get yourself a lawyer and watch the money come in.

I say you all are full of it as I'm going thought the same thing ,you keep say just because he can type he can work , that's not all its about , If I could go out to work I would be there, but now there is no company that would hire me as I'm a liable to them if I get hurt and sue them as I cant do the things that others can do and let not forget about the drug test as I would never pass one, just because I'm in so much pain all the time and cant walk good, Put yourself in my shoes for a week and then tell me how you fell, I don't want to be disabled but I'm and you all put use down, but I will tell you my life change in a min.. and so could yours , So don't say who is right or wrong, but if I could remember, when you get married for better or worse sickness or health , and you do take that Val before God.

How come you put her out of the house? She is the one giving you 800.00.. But anyway, it is also bad that she cheated.. but still, you seem capable of work, you can still express yourself properly, and can type.. you can definitely find work that you can do. Before making that decision try to fix your relationship, maybe it can still be fixed. And don't rely on your wife too much, you can make your own money. If there is a will, there is a way.. I think your wife is just a little pissed cause you're not paralyzed or anything but it seems like she's the one doing all the work..

May be you might be able to get the alimony, but if you already recieving social security disable benefits, your checks will be cut, and all of your benefits will be cut.
Ok so she cheated, tell her stop cheating put and end to this, and that it would be so much cheaper if she moves bak in the house, and help pay for the bills, and try to get along with each other. This way you both win by finacial ways, but if a divorce, she pays for everything, and if kids are involved, you wll end up losing, and moving into a facilty for people of special needs.
Try to keep your independence, even keeping her in the home is better than living in a facility and losing everything that you have become accusomted to.
Best of luck.

Not impressed with some of these answers here. A lot of you are saying, "Be a man, why are you asking her for alimony?" I wonder what your answers would be if SHE caught HIM cheating and put him out of the house for it? I'm not saying that suing for alimony out of spite is correct, but female spouses do this to their husbands all the time and nobody pitches as much of a fit as I've seen some of you do here. I know, I know - you're probably thinking "but the that's usually because man makes more money than her". Well, I'm not buying that either; we've all heard about "Grrl Power" and women being equal, blah blah. It's funny how you females are so "independent" and "self assured" until it's time for divorce court - then all of a sudden you can't survive without his alimony money! Well, now here's a case in which the shoe is on the other foot, and this time it's the MAN who is "cashing out". Sucks, doesn't it? Now you know how we men feel, and why a lot of us are bailing out of the dating and marriage game every damned day. Suck it up.

What kind of man are you that you would ask your wife of 36 years for alimony? Sounds to me like you miss the money. Maybe you shouldn't have been so quick to put her out. Did she cheat because you cannot fulfill her womanly desires because of your disability? Maybe she was tired of taking care of you all these years. Be a man.

Get a lawyer quick. Sue her for Adultry, alimony or Spousal support. Also if there are children get her for Child Support . If you don't go ahead with this, then she can turn the tables on you. Beat her to the draw.

your hands work well enough to type on your computer, stop using your disability as a crutch and find a job working with computers or in an office typing...i think your looking for sympathy because your wife got tired of supporting you, im sure that you get a check from social security if your disabled...plus your wife pays you for being a slug

Unfortunately, you kicked her out. That may or may not play a role in it depending on what state you are in.

If she has been your total support and you prove infidelity, she may have to keep paying you alimony, but I doubt it's going to be that much. If you are in the U.S. and disabled, you can get SSD and other government helps.

Best Wishes,

Sue
