First, people should cut and paste this link into the address bar: http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j37/GoogieWoogie/Untitled-1.jpg
and they will see the problem.

Second, the words do not match the written formula. The words give: (5x - 4)^½ = x - 2 and that solves to be x = 1, x = 8. (Square each side, put all terms on one side equalling zero and factor, then solve each factor for x. Or use the quadratic equation form and substitute.)

Solving the problem shown (which does not match the words) yields x = 0.82 + (119^½ / 50) * i (i = (-1)^½) and x = .82 - (119^½ / 50) * i (solved as in the above, just going straight to the quadratic formula).

Sorry, the page you requested was not found

Please check the URL for proper spelling and capitalization. If you're having trouble locating a page on Photobucket, try visiting the home page. Also, you may find what you are looking for using the search below.

The best way to solve this problem would be to link the right photo to us, and I doubt html is allowed within these questions so I would recommend taking that out as well. Problem solved!

I don't think that problem can be solved, just yet.
