The most useful gift I have ever been given is probably a radio cause like I didn't have one and I needed to practice my band instruments but it came with a cd and I couldn't play it.

My parents gave me a typewriter (way before computers) when I graduated from high school. It was my friend for many years. As a result, I can type faster than most people without ever having been formally trained. Stands way above all other gifts.

My pellet gun...hehehe i had more fun with that then ever! it was a great up grade from the BB gun.you would never understand unless it happened to you.. you must be looking for a cool gift for a friend or loved one! its hard to know what they want just give them a true and honest you and that will be the best gift ever. ;)

Speaking materialistically, the most useful gift I have ever received was my piano. I love to play, and using it has helped me to become better at it. Making music makes me feel better, too.

My cook stove, my microwave, and y sewing machine.
I know that is three but they are the things I use the most. I would rather have been given something for me not so I can do more work.

It may not seem that useful or original, but my iPod. I would never have bought one for myself, but now I use it all the time, especially when I'm exercising or doing schoolwork, and I can hook it up to my car stereo.
Oh, I didn't realize we were talking about intangibles here... Yes, freedom, life, etc. are probably more important.
