Dunno that anyone lived there. But Mr Eiffel the designer, later built the Statue of Liberty.
The Eiffel Tower was supposed to be a temporary structure for an exhibition. However, it drew so many crowds to Paris, just to see it, that the city administration wisely left it intact.

Gustav Eifel lived in the Tower.
He was famous because he designed the Eifel Tower.
And thats why it's called Eifel Tower. His last name is Eifel tower.
That is all I know.
