I think when I was about 13. That's when I became more aware of other countries and their situations. Up till then , I really didn't see a difference in the lives of my friends, family or neighbors to show that they were better off or worser off than I was. Even on tv, kids shows love to show the great culture stuff, kinda like "hey look, this kid is half way around, and even tho they have different traditions, they are just like you." So it wasn't until I was pretty old did I realize that not everybody is given the same chances as everybody else.
