I don't know if I really want to love someone, but everyone tells me that I will fall in love, whether I want to or not. Is that true?

You do not choose who you will love, that comes from friendship and respect.

You do choose to remain loving that person. No one is perfect. You learn from each other what it is to stand by each other. I love my man every day (verb). I fall in love with him time and time again (heart and soul).

If you are not open to love then it will probably not happen. The truth is that love finds those who seek it and you can harden your heart so that it will not come to you. I personally do not understand why anyone would not want to be in love. it is the most wonderful feeling to be in love and have them love you back. It is a risk that you will get hurt, but it is worth it. Have you ever heard the phrase that "it is better to have loved and lost than to never love at all"? I don't think you can choose to be in love or not because it does just happen, but you can choose to not put yourself out there to experience it. Do you love your family? The best love is the love you feel for your child and i feel so sorry for those who never experience that love.

People dont choose to fall in love but rather love chooses people when it feels theyre ready or not and least expect it. You cant find it but it finds you. The secret about love is not finding it but what to do about it when love comes knocking at your door

If you truly don't want to or close yourself to it, you wont. Because you wont put yourself in a situation to do so. That means you will have to keep all women at a distance and not get close to one, friendship or otherwise. If you feel you are just not ready then, don't worry about it, it will come when it comes, be open to it. Love is wonderful.

You can't control who you fall in love with. I fell in love with my wife just by getting to know her and I developed personal feelings for her.

Only time will tell with that one .People's feelings/ emotions change with circumstances, environment, age, and other people. You might have some idea as to where your furture might be with a partner. But you can't possibly know for sure. You can't know from NOW how you'll feel "THEN."

I don't think we can choose - we simply fall in love, or we don't.

Sort of, but you do have to make a conscious choice to stay 'in love'.
