he gave us two questions about race, can someone please tell me what these questions mean. if you can provide me with answers to the questions, you'll get the points for best answer

1) Can racial inequality provide a shield to hide behind?

2) Are racial boundaries desintegrating in pop music? Is it becoming less ghettoized. What does it signify about our society?

any help would be much appreciated

I think the shield question means "Can a person use racial inequality as an excuse, a distraction, or in some other way to get away with something they otherwise wouldn't?" Think OJ.

I think the second one is asking, "Are there types of music that used to be pretty much all-black or all-white that are now mixed, and why or why not?"

Question one is asking you can the reality of racial inequality act as a shield to protect people from showing that they really are racists and or act as a way that a person is being discriminated against use as an excuse for his/her own failures.

Question two is ask does popular music help to remove racial inequality that exist within our society or not and what does this mean.

I hope this helps. Its the best I think I can do without actually answering these questions for you - and that is not what you need me to do.

Good Luck!!!

In his first question, he's asking you if people use race in unjustified ways. For instance, someone robs a bank, and when they are arrested they claim that they were only arrested because they were black. In that sense, they would be using racial inequalities - which do exist - as a shield for actual criminal behavior - which, alas, also exists.

The second question is asking if you think it's getting to the point where race doesn't matter in pop music. Given that there are racial inequalities in society as a whole, is it true that there are none or fewer in pop music?

Those are pretty abstract - I'd ask him directly. What does "less ghetoized" mean. I don't think ghettoized is in the dictionary. Good luck. Question 1 is pretty confusing as well...
