I would say it's becoming more negative. Older people used to be considered wise and revered for their life experience. Now people hate to be around old people. We stick them in homes and forget about them and consider them senile. Nobody wants to age and spends thousands on surgery to look and feel younger... people are scared of death and ageing.

Almost everyone I met seemed to be younger than I was until I joined a club where the average age is around 75.
I used to dread getting old, but now I'm in my sixties, I'm happier and healthier than I've ever been.
