Names that have strange nicknames...Dick.

Names that have initials that don't go with your last name, as in the kid could be teased (Polly Urban, Fred Urban, Bob Smith).

Names where the first initial of the nickname is different than the formal name (Becky-Rebecca, Elizabeth-Lizzie, Richard-Dick); it's hard to know which initial to use when the two names are different.

I don't like: Nikki, Tabitha, Angel, Payton, Christa, Theresa, Skylar, Lexi, Brittany, Jordan, Mackenzie, Hannah etc. Wait, these could all be strippers! I agree that overused names are really annoying. Nothing worse than 4 Madisons or Katelyns in a room.

I think any name that is made to be hard to spell and/or pronounce are bad names, regardless of gender. The exception is if the name is handed down from a previous generation or if the child has multi-cultural parents. (Our daughter was born in China and named XiaoQiao by her foster parents, we just put Virginia in front of it to make it easier for westerners to use her name.) Any name that would inhibit or distract from success would be a bad choice as well, I'd not feel comfortable going to see Dr. Muffy Something-or-other, opposed to seeing Dr. Margo Whatever. I have friends who purposely try to make their children's names difficult.

My daughter calls her great grams "Mimi," it's a cute nickname.

It is all a matter of personal taste.

I am not a huge fan of Amber, Dawn, Jennifer, Stephanie, Amanda, Crystal, Tiffany, Vickie, Debra or Debbie, Terry, Sherry, Sharon, Lisa, Kristy, Brenda, Sandy, Delphine, Barbara, Janet or Janice or Jan, Susan, Colleen, Angel, Kathy, Edna, Jean, LInda, Nicole, Donna, Carol, Gemma, Cindy, or Candie.

I could go on all day. Most of these names are just dated. They had their day. :)

Hope I didn't offend anyone! SD

I heard this on the radio once, a few years ago. You may not see the whole name, but you'll get the idea. It was probably a joke anyway.

The name of the baby girl was to be Asshole, but pronounced Assh-o-le'. Isn't that the most horrible name you've ever heard??

In a lot of latin countries in towns along the coast, there are a lot of girls named "Usnavy" (pronounced in spanish oosnahvie). The origin of this name was that people watched big ships with that name and they found it catchy.

For me... this are the worst kind of names. The ones after words in other languages that are not names at all.

The absolute worst name I've ever heard.

Balanish

It sounds like an exotic lunchmeat. Bologna? Salami? Something I've never heard of? Let's grind them all up together and make a girl-shaped loaf!
