that's a little weird. i always took my vitamins whenever i felt like. i have five kids, my doctor never once told me it had to be 2-3 hours after a meal, and all of my kids are healthy. maybe it's the vitamin you are taking, because my vitamins had a different name. did you ask your doc? that would be your best bet. oh, congrats on the baby!

So that it doesn't get digested too quickly. And or so the vitamins and minerals get absorbed better into yours and the baby's body. Oh yea and also it could be possible that some women get sick from it all and vomit.

Hmmm... I am not sure, why your doctor tells you to do that...Any pre-natal vitamin I ever taken I HAD TO take with food...otherwise I would get sick...

I take my vitamins with a whole glass of milk after I have eaten. If I take them before I get really sick.

That way they won't make you sick, because your system is already digesting your food and your stomach isn't empty.
