I tried everything from flavoring them with horrible stuff, to getting them done ( I had been getting them done for about 7 months now, and I thought, hey, its been long enough...the second I got them taken off, I had bitten ALL my real nails down again...) I know how gross it is, it looks ugly as heck, and sometimes it hurts...but I just cant stop...any suggestions that I havent yet tried? (Aside from cutting my fingers off, or walking around with socks on my hands, etc)

I recommend these two products:

5 Second Bite Free Nail Treatment ((it leaves your nails with a nice gloss and a bitter taste))
Jessica Nibble No More ((They make it out of cactus and it tastes like poision its really really bad NO ONE could put up with it))

I used these nail polishes to break my life long nail biting habit.

Sometimes I can go for several weeks without biting. When I catch myself going into a relaspe, I start using it again or i just clip off my nails. =)

Good luck! You can do it, dont give up!

Well, you could look for sewer work, or emptying Port-O-Johns, that might keep your fingers out of your mouth.
Or, you could try changing habits. Take up eating Sunflower seeds, or chew on a stick. If something is already in your mouth, maybe you won't stick your fingers in as well.
I would recommend tobacco, but that is probably worse for you than biting your nails. But the juice would run out when you opened your mouth, so that would probably work.
Have you tried gloves?

I had the same bad habbit, it sucks! lol, but heres what i did and maybe it'll work for you. First, paint them so that you aren't quite as tempted (the paint is never easy to get off your tounge,) next, put hot pepper juice or something icky on them whenever you feel the urge to bite. Third, put strength coating on them AND take a couple Tums (or the generic like) everyday, they help to strengthen the nails. :) one final thing, have as much self control as possible, dont just say oh well, clip them if they become that big of a temptation. :) good luck!

Just keep getting your nails done. That's the only way I keep from messing with mine. I don't do the professional thing b/c I don't have the time- I just paint them myself. You might also want to try to see a doctor about it, they might be able to prescribe you something or figure out the reason you bite your nails.

Just keep getting them manicured on a weekly basis. That works better than the artificial nails because it will help them to grow on their own. The fake ones only weaken the real ones. G.L!
