I have heard other people say that they also had the surgery done and had carpal tunnel again later . I ask my doctor about it when i had mine done and he said it depended on how the doctor did the surgery. Something about not cutting the band correctly.

You can only get carpal tunnel syndrome once per hand.
Once you have the problem though you have it for the rest of your life.

Carpal tunnel is caused by a narrowing of one of the bones in your wrist (there are 8) which presses on the nerves that pass through those bones. The only way to really fix the problem is to go inside of the bone and shave part foe it off. This would require some very delicate microsurgery.

I don't know what operation you had, but clearly it was a temporary one (unless you have some other condition, like arthritis which is a known complication of surgery in that area).

Clearly you need to return to the doctor and seek their advice.
