I would say a PS3 especially if you have a PSP. The connectivity between the two is great. You can download PS1 games to put onto your PSP. You can use the PSP as a controler or an extra view in certain games. The PS3 has an online service like Xbox Live only it is free instead of $5 a month. Not to mention Xbox 360 has been out for a year now and the PS3 has equal or better graphics. This means that in a year to year and a half the graphics on the PS3 will be beyond your imagination, especially if you have a HD TV. The 360 is also not fully HD since you have to buy a seperate add on to play HD DVD's and games still utilize DVD's. Where the PS3 uses Blueray disc for the actual games which is a HD format along with being able to play movies. You can play DVD's on both of them and the PS3 is fully backwards compatable with PS1 and PS2 games.

I would wait a little bit first not only will the price go down because these systems are new, but i have also heard that the 360 has had a few problems, or recalls or something, not sure... so i would wait!!

Why not get a WII that actually looks different and interesting. Unless you love being monotonous.

My personal preference is the PS3.
