I think it is just men who do this - it is the only time when men can multi-task!

depends how long i am going to be sat there! I prefer reading a magazine/newspaper to a book as if I start reading a book i get engrossed and end up getting dead legs.
I am a woman by the way and my boyfriend thinks im totally wierd, he must think that its only men who have the rights to read whilst doing the business.

I've only ever known one woman reading in the loo but most men do. Recently I asked my bf why he needs to go again before going to bed after he'd just been - his answer was that it's just part of his routine. Personally, I can't quite understand what's so pleasant about sitting there with a bare behind - I do my business and off I go.

I don't read on the john and I forbid for anyone to take my reading material into the bathroom. One time I searched the whole house for a book I needed for a kiddie lit class in college. My bf walked out of the bathroom fanning the air/fumes with my copy of On the Banks of Plum Creek! So it is BYOB at my place, bring your own book!!

I read my newspapers.I spend that much time on here,that I read in the toilet to catch up with the news.

Our down stairs toilet is called the library, we have a monthly puzzles magazine and pencils in there and we use the time to (also)exercise the brain.

I tend to start whistling songs I haven't heard or thought of in years.
The other day it was the theme tune to a Disney film called The Gnome Mobile.

I am never in the bathroom long enough to have to read. When I have to go, I do my business and I'm done. My boyfriend can take up to 20 minutes in the pooper.... he reads. I don't get it. Maybe it's a guy thing.

I'm female and I love it. It's class.
The best thing though - and it sounds weird but ya gotta try it - is to sit on the toilet, and get a footrest (I was gonna say 'stool' but didn't think it would be appropriate!) and put your tootsies on it.
Having your legs slightly raised whilst doing the honours is such a treat!
