I purchased a used 2006 Freestyle and the place did not know the door entry code for the vehicle. They said it was a simple thing for a dealer to take care of. Well, it is....for $40. That's what the dealer wants for taking five minutes to hook up his computer gizmo and telling me the big secret code. Is there another way to accomplish this?
(No, I'm not gonna try to guess it by going through 1000's of attempts).

The module that controls the door lock entry system on your particular vehicle is called a Smart Junction Box. It is a module that incorporates the fuses and relays to control various other systems in the vehicle. This module is located behind the steering column cover. It is secured by three nuts, and three electrical connectors to it. There should be a decal on the module somewhere with a number similar to XXXX-14A068-XX. That would be the part number. Where you find FIVE numbers, is your five digit keypad code. Hope this helps.

MANY moons ago Ford used to put the codes on a sticker on the lock module. The module was usually in the trunk (on cars, of course). I would expect that the module would be behind one of the trim panels toward the rear of the passenger compartment on trucks and vans. The idea was that if you had the key to the car you probably had a valid reason to be looking at the door lock module.

I don't know if this is still thr case, as I haven't worked for a Ford dealer since 1990. It's worth a look, though . . . hope this helps.

If there was a way do you think any Ford owner would have a hope in hell of finding his car in the driveway in the morning. Funny enough that code use to be stamp on the left trunk hinge so anybody could see it when you opened your trunk. Fords the only place to get it do unless your local shop have a good in with them
