Has it been cut? Like it has been in a ring? Often diamonds fall from their settings because one of the holders got bent. Cubic Zirconiums can fall from their settings as well.
Take it to your local jewelry store and they will be happy to look at it. They will probably be willing to pay you wholesale value for it as well.

yes it does if they are professional, but if you have and friend in that business then it will be free =)
