Depends on what type of music you would like to play. If you like heavier stuff, like Lamb of God or Dragonforce, you might want to go with an Ibanez or similar makes. You would definitely want a guitar with humbuckers if you like heavier tones. If you like classic rock and blues, I would reccomend a Squier (Fender) Stratocaster. They ususally have decent tones for the money. If you like music such as AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, or ZZ Top, I'd say an Epiphone SG would serve you well. Look for packs. You can get an amp and some other necessities, with the guitar as well.

Read customer reviews before you buy. $200 really limits you, as far as quality goes. But if you spend wisely, you can get something worth playing. Whatever you buy, make sure you like the looks. And always try before you buy! What feels good to one person, may not to another. Good luck!
