A cool bracelet, ring or necklace from hot topic would be nice...they have a lot online too www.hottopic.com.
I got my friend a cool calender with some neat fantasy/science fiction type art in it ..she LOVED it and she sounds like your friend.
or a neat box to put jewelry or whatever in..you can get some that arn't to expensive but still look cool..

how about an original christmas ornament? My friend and I exchanged these for a while in High School. Makes great souvenirs.
bath bubbles were also fun.

Walmart has bath sets for as little as $4.88 with bath gel, body lotion, etc. Find a fragrance you think she'd like--the worst thing that'll happen is she doesn't like it.

get her a scarf, hat and mittens. you can get them in fun colours and patterns and its not much money at all. I got my friends scarves for christmas and they loved them!
